And the Carolina Meadows Wellness Program provides the means to maintain or improve health in all of these areas. Upon entering our community, each resident receives a “Collage Screening” where we evaluate your overall health and suggest a plan for maintaining your independence and improving your health.
Our Wellness Center is the focal point for many of our health initiatives—and is a daily stop for many of our residents. There’s a wide variety of regularly scheduled fitness classes available, reflecting the diverse fitness preferences of our residents; these classes include balance training, dance, healthy back, Tai-chi, Pilates, yoga, Nia technique and Feldenkrais. We have state-of-the-art fitness equipment, all designed to maximize fitness and reduce impact on body joints. Our indoor pool and Jacuzzi are also open every day for those who want to get fit and relax.
Carolina Meadows also invites many expert speakers to our campus to discuss areas such as nutrition, alternative medicine, health promotion and stress.
In addition, we offer a blood pressure clinic once a week.
