Meadows Resident Honored
The
American Association for Homes and Services for the Aged,
(AAHSA) in Washington have selected a watercolor by Connie
Dickinson to hang in their new Head Quarters.
AAHSA
asked residents of retirement communities across the country
to submit entries.
The
watercolor titled, "Waters Edge in Maine," which Connie
Dickinson submitted, was one of two hundred (200) selected,
from seven hundred (700) submitted for consideration. She
received a certificate naming her as an AAHSA Honored Senior
Artist.
Mrs.
Dickinson painted the picture two years ago at aged 75 years.
She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation
she worked in an ad agency art department and the Visual Aids
Department of the University of Illinois. She paints in oil,
pastel and enjoys pen and ink and calligraphy. She has won
awards for magazine covers, painting and watercolors in juried
art shows. Mrs. Dickinson and her husband came to live at
Carolina Meadows in 1997. They have three children and three
grandchildren.
