Carolina Meadows Resident Honored

The American Association for Homes and Services for the Aged, (AAHSA) in Washington have selected a watercolor by Connie Dickinson to hang in their new Head Quarters.

AAHSA asked residents of retirement communities across the country to submit entries.

The watercolor titled, "Waters’ Edge in Maine," which Connie Dickinson submitted, was one of two hundred (200) selected, from seven hundred (700) submitted for consideration. She received a certificate naming her as an AAHSA Honored Senior Artist.

Mrs. Dickinson painted the picture two years ago at aged 75 years. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation she worked in an ad agency art department and the Visual Aids Department of the University of Illinois. She paints in oil, pastel and enjoys pen and ink and calligraphy. She has won awards for magazine covers, painting and watercolors in juried art shows. Mrs. Dickinson and her husband came to live at Carolina Meadows in 1997. They have three children and three grandchildren.
