Carolina
Meadows Marketing Volunteers Honored
Every
weekend and Holiday you will find residents from Carolina
Meadows team of Marketing Volunteers on duty in the lobby
to welcome prospective residents looking into retirement options.
They tour Carolina Meadows and answer questions about the
life style. They are on duty from 11am-3pm on Saturdays and
1-3pm on Sundays.
After
this initial visit, prospective residents often make an appointment
with the marketing department for more details. "The Marketing
Volunteers at Carolina Meadows provide a wonderful service,"
says Rosemary Hutchinson Marketing Director, "people who visit
like to hear about life at Carolina Meadows from the residents
themselves".
The
Marketing Volunteers meet the first Friday every month for
a breakfast meeting. They sign up for duty, have a presentation
by a staff member or a question and answer session, so they
are familiar with all the services of Carolina Meadows.
Each
year in April, National Volunteer Month, Marketing Volunteers
are honored by Carolina Meadows Marketing Department with
a special function. In past years it has been a special afternoon
tea with a harpist playing, and a magic show. This year a
Victorian Breakfast was held on April 6, for over 60 marketing
volunteers. Mark Maxwell, Director of Dining Services and
his staff prepared a variety of breakfast dishes, including
a Victorian Breakfast Dish called Kedgeree. This is comprised
of rice, smoked fish and chopped hard-boiled egg and was served
in Victorian times.
Dud
and Jean Waldner were presented with a gift and thanked for
their work in Co-Chairing the Marketing Volunteers. They handed
the gavel to Bob and Helen Wilson who will Co-Chair the Marketing
Volunteers for the coming year.
