Carolina Meadows was incorporated in the State of North Carolina in August of 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Its mission is to provide housing, health and wellness services, and social opportunities for older adults in a financially secure community that respects individual dignity, encourages independence,and promotes life-long learning throughout the sequences of aging.Carolina Meadows is governed and managed by a volunteer, community-based, Board of Directors. There are 15 voting members plus three ex officio non-voting positions. The bylaws require five members of the Board to be residents of Carolina Meadows.
