Overview of Our Homes
Carolina Meadows is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, also known as a “CCRC.” That means that we offer several different living arrangements based on your individual needs and wants as you age. Incoming residents move into Independent Living with the understanding that there are higher levels of living available to them should they require additional assistance. All of our living options are designed to maximize your comfort, security and privacy within your level of independence. There are three different levels of living:
Independent Living
We offer many different Villas and Apartments that can be customized to meet your needs and taste. We have eight different villa floor plans, ranging from approximately 1200 to 1850 square feet, offering one or two bedrooms, a private garage and patio or deck area. Apartments range from approximately 700 to 1,600 square feet, with seven different floor plans and designs to choose from. View our Independent Living Choices.
Assisted Living
The Fairways, our assisted living building, is a state-of-the art apartment building that offers all the comforts of home, along with an attentive staff to help residents stay as independent as possible. This level of living is only available to our residents. The Fairways features 64 private apartments, dining room, library, exercise studio, lecture hall, beauty shop and an expansive screened porch. The accommodations include 24-hour staff, all daily meals, snacks, housekeeping services, and recreational activities. Within The Fairways is The Green, our memory care level of living. With fourteen sunny rooms surrounding lovely community areas this is a safe, vibrant home for those with memory impairment.
Skilled Nursing
Completing the continuum of care, Carolina Meadows offers an 86-bed skilled nursing facility called the Health Center. This is a state-licensed facility that provides nursing care, including skilled services after a hospital stay. Our goal is to assist residents in maintaining the highest level of independence possible. The Health Center offers spacious rooms, pleasant vistas, and a remarkable variety of activities and services, both therapeutic and recreational, and includes a fully equipped physical and occupational therapy area. A full range of health professionals — licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, and resident volunteers—staff the Center.
