Carolina Meadows embodies a very active,
socially conscious group of men and women. Many of our residents
are involved in at least one volunteer activity.
Programs
and agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, Radio Reading Service,
Ronald McDonald House, mentoring programs in local schools,
Hospice, Reach for Recovery, and the UNC Hospitals Volunteer
Program are benefiting from the contributions of Carolina
Meadows residents. Some of our residents also help the community
by consulting in their fields of expertise.
During
the summer, Carolina Meadows donates the use of their facilities
to Orange, Person Chatham (OPC) Foundation for Mental Health
to enable them to hold a therapeutic camp for children with
emotional challenges.
In
addition to hands-on help, Carolina Meadows expresses its
commitment to the larger community by sponsoring a number
of programs, including:
| Chatham
County Council on Aging |
| Museum
of Life and Science in Durham |
| UNC-CH
Playmakers Repertory Theater |
| Duke
University Theater Previews |
| Temple
Theater in Sanford |
| WUNC
Radio |
| UNC-TV |
| Ronald
McDonald House in Chapel Hill |
| Chatham
County United Way |
| Memorial
Hall Transformation |
| Chrysalis Foundation for Mental Health |
Recently,
Carolina Meadows set aside land and constructed a soccer field
for use by the local community. The Meadows Community Field
will enable the growing number of young people in the area
the opportunity to play soccer and for the residents to be
involved in intergenerational activities of this nature.
